Tracktion has been in like the last 5 issues! They are always raving about it and saying good things and reccomending it to folks with question and stuff. Cool to see Tracktion getting more and more coverage. There is even a special CM Tracktion demo!

Yes, since their beloved Muzys lost the support of its creator, (could be temporarily, but doubt it), the editors turned to another enthusiast tool, that mach Muzys in simplicity and efficiency. Still CMuzys, the special included version is still a VERY nice piece of software, and kicks Tracktions' ass when midi control and beat-slicing is concerned. Unfortunately, the automation is a little quirky.Aleatoric wrote:Tracktion has been in like the last 5 issues! Still, Tracktion is on his way of becoming THE ultimate DAW, but I'm currious how will the author override the limitations of T's overall design.

Which ones?mikejade wrote: Still, Tracktion is on his way of becoming THE ultimate DAW, but I'm currious how will the author override the limitations of T's overall design.
I can't think of many features that don't drop fairly elegantly right into the way Tracktion already works.

Well, the basic idea of everything-on-one-screen is limiting, however great to begin with.valley wrote: Which ones?

If Jo is to ad some midi-control improvement, better wav editing, maybe a beat slicing in its sampler (yes, pretty please!), it will get pretty crowded on that screen.
Also, although Tracktion enables its users to emulate the traditional mixing environment (and philosophy) of buses/sends/inserts with its rack implementation, it is still the alternative route.
But actually, I'm not complaining there because I like Ts approach much more, and I get a little happier using it with each new project.

Oh, the conspiracy theorist in me is just going into overdrive.AD80 wrote:Oh haha. I thought you had him confused with "Jo" the long lost developer of Muzys.

Seriously guys,
those two Js combined would make the most powerful creative force this world has ever sean! They could probably make the fast, stabile, flexible and cheap Wind(bl)ows replacement in three months!

Have you seen how different T and M are? I'd be like mating a really great racing dog with an equally great race horse and wonder if the result would fly.
