Hi chaps,

Yes there have been many T2 threads but this one is designed to hopefully make Jules T2 development a bit easier by letting him see to some degree how many Tracktion users want a particular aspect of T2 developed above any other. Tracktion 2 could be announced very soon or sometime next year so this poll will be a rolling one allowing potential Tracktion users and current users to vote leading up to the day T2 is announced.

Also now that Tracktion also now has a free version

any new users are welcome to place your votes as well.... 8)

add 'fixed/improved automation cupport' and throw a vote in it from me.

the project management would be a nice second though.

and all this time t2 is being coded and made so well that you will die when you use it, yet you think your lists are so significant.

enough speculation i say! ENOUGH!

I'm not sure what is worse: the perpetual "tracktion sucks and it must be fixed now" or the "tracktion is perfect and if you don;t see it you're a dumbfuck" rhetoric.

FFS people, why does everything have to be some kind of poxy tribal warfare. I'm getting real bored of this stuff.

i said tracktion will be perfect, not that it is now ;)

My top wish is not in the list, too: 'improved sequence editing'. Meaning for example that passages can be inserted into or removed from the whole song, maintaining things like automation and tempo changes. Or the introduction of 'ghost clips' (edit one of them, all others change).

People who ask for new features tend to forget the basics. :) Tracktion is a sequencer, so sequencing is where it should be best at. Audio editing, instruments, effects - that kind of stuff can be easily improved by getting extra software. But if the sequence editor itself has a limitation, there's not much you can do about it as a user.

I'm optimistic that Jules shares this point of view. I can't know that, of course, it's just a feeling.

Anyway, I'm sure he's sitting somewhere laughing his head off when looking at all the wishes and comparing them with the reality known to him only.

who cares
lets get rid of this stuff and do it at valleys thread at TF
Dom you know what im like and im not dissing your thread but
Valley has set up a similar thing at TF that we can keep organised and i'll even sort out a sticky when its filled enough
hopefully valley will take care of it
my head just isnt level enough for most people
i agree with ron though i must say
i dont think T is perfect and i know T2 wont be
what worries me is all these people who are whining about T are really gonna have some gripes when a particular feature that was high in one of these polls or has been discussed a lot isnt incorporated

cheers

oh and sorry for being like a cubase user
but if T sells well then expect a lot worse

As long as we don't get like the bible-bashing spaz-wits over at cakewalk sonar forum. What's the cubase forum like then? pistols at dawn?

Pretty much a rant-a-thon.

I dunno why everyone gets on imageline's case so much about the FL forums, they are bad to be sure, but no worse than cubase.net IMO.

I voted for "video features" and that would still get my vote, but I didn't notice anything about enhanced loop functionality, and that has been something that has been mentioned a lot.

(Yes, I just bought Sonar, but I liked the Tracktion demo quite a lot and I'm still pulling for T2!)

I just knew you would hit this thread like a speeding truck Rack Bitz! :x :x :x :D

I certainly do not want to stir up problems or upset people...its just a thread that differs from some of the other *perfectly good T2 threads* because it is actually a rolling poll that gives Jules (he may or may not need it) and other Tracktion users like me a chance to see what the Tracktion community really want to have in Tracktion V.2, based on votes instead of posts with feature requests (which I have even contributed to recently)thats all.

Rack Bitz! There is only one... It's funny actually because I thought to myself should I start this thread or not :( because there have been so many T2 threads but at the end of the day even if there are 100 threads of this type it's just that at the end of the day a thread!

I could almost see your post :x before you started typing! :hihi:

I think you guys at Tracktion Faction as well as Valley have made a great effort over at TF and I think I have even added my own suggestion to Valleys well put together thread on the Tracktion faction forums...so I'm with you about suggestions being made over there > Tracktion Faction.

I just wanted to see what people would vote for if there was a particular area they would want developed in T2 above anything else...thats all...

Thanks for all your votes so far guys. :)

Hi there...I tried to slim down the options otherwise I would have far too many options for a poll, there are probably at least 50 different features that we all want to see in Tracktion 2 which I am pretty sure is way past the limit for options allowed in KVR polls. :-o

So I think enhanced loop functionality may go under Audio editing and recording...

okay my bad

So lets see…30 votes so far...great and thanks for sharing your views guys, the more the merrier.

19 votes so 63 % of you want enhanced midi functionality then as your no.1 T2 feature request? I fall into that category as well. I think this category may yet get more votes.

Audio editing and recording:Only 5 votes (16%) ...slowly gathering pace but it appears at least at this stage of the poll that most people do not see this category as a no.1 priority.

Better FX or instrument: No votes, I am a bit surprised here but then again with so many good freebies out there maybe it’s not a surprise at all. Mackie distribute some plugs I wonder if there is a chance Tracktion 2 will have any versions of those plugs.

Have a look and scroll down for more detail, they look pretty capable…

http://www.mackie.com/products/d8b_v5/p ... l#finalmix

A mixer and possibly sends:1 vote so far... most Tracktion users don’t appear to want a mixer at all then.

Features for live use: 2 votes (6%) interesting I wonder if T2 will have any new features in this area.

Video features: 2 votes (6%) I think Jules did mention some sort of development in this area for Tracktion 2.

Advanced Rack...more features :0 votes, it looks like either we are all happy with them as they are or just do not see rack development as a priority for T2

Audio and midi project file management: 1 vote (3%) I thought it would be worth including this category but not many takers on this it would appear.

Thanks for the votes…it is an interesting set of statistics. There must be more than 30 people who use the Tracktion forum though… 8)

Pistols at dawn, Apocalypse Now, etc. Actually I dont even know how to describe that place. The Mac/Cubase forum is basically just a disguised Logic fan forum. Every other thread is "Cubase sux on the Mac, switch to Logic cuz its the greatest". The Windows forum is a good placed to get jumped by a gang of "veterans" who've been using Cubase since before Charlie invented it. It was absolutely bonkers back when I used to visit it. I'm not sure how it is now since I left and never came back. But nothing in this forum can compare to madness overthere haha.
