Hm... after writing this out, I think it's something that's been raised before.

- Start a new project
- Switch to the Session Modular view
- Click open the session modular "Options" menu and pick "Edit Meta Parameter map"
- Add a mapping from Meta Parameter 1 to Rack 2 (or any rack) Mixer Strip Stereo Width, with a Minimum of 50%
- Click open the session modular "Options" menu and pick "Edit MIDI Controller map"
- Add a mapping from CC4 to Session Mux "Stereo Width" (which is Meta Parameter 1's automatic label) using MIDI learn (to ensure it's an external event)

Now, if you adjust Meta Parameter 1 on-screen, you'd expect the rack stereo width to change -- that works.

You'd also expect MIDI CC4 to have the same effect. That doesn't work - neither the Meta Parameter knob nor the Stereo Width knob move.

If I put an event monitor into the modular view, it doesn't show CC4 events. It shows other, unassigned events, though. If I delete the MIDI controller assignment, the events appear again.

It may just be a visual "bug" - I wasn't testing the audio effect, I was checking I'd "wired up" the mapping correctly first - but having no on-screen feedback is disconcerting.

First of all: The term "Session MUX" is a legacy term.
To avoid confusion to other readers here, lets use the actual term "Project MUX".
I'm aware the old term is still saved in older project files, M8 will filter that out.

Ok, on topic: I can confirm the issue you describe.
M8 will fix that.

Question: When you inserted the Event Monitor, to which event output did you connect it?

Post

I just dropped it into the project MUX area, with the output connected to the Metronome, to make sure it was actually connected to something.
