Tracktion 9 not showing export mp3 option

Hi: looking for some help please.

I have some stuff that I've edited with T9, but when I go to export the single mixed track, I'm not getting the mp3 option. WAV & VORBiS (as well as a couple less common formats) are there, but no mp3.

I'm hoping someone has some ideas why.

I'm using Ubuntu 18.

Any help with this would be appreciated: thank you very much.

ps- any tips on the best order for on mix > export steps (I'm doing a podcast so its usually only a few tracks that are being done)?

You must activate a link to the LAME encoder under Settings. I'ts done this way for licencing reasons, I believe.

That must be a Linux thing. MP3 export came as a default in the Windows version.

You need to install the actual 'lame' package, not just the libs. Waveform defaults to searching for /usr/bin/lame
