jVSTwRapper works with Tracktion

Recently, in the announcement thread of the wonderful JUCE,

If the jVSTwrapper worked in Tracktion I'd have done StepChild in two days.

But actually, jVSTwRapper does work with Tracktion. For me at least . It's just that the installation of jVSTwRapper is a badly documented hassle - I hope this will be improved when the version gets closer to 1.0.

Some installation advice:

1) The path which must be added to the PATH environment variable is .../jre/bin/client, where '...' depends on your system.

2) One of the example ini files must be copied over the jVSTwRapper.ini file, and the classpath variable within it must be edited to reference both jar files in your vstplugin directory.

Dan just mailed me the new version - 2 major bugs found. What version you using? This new one must be 0.7? He never said. You don't need the jvm.dll path anymore for example. Theres something wonky in my setup - he's said he'd got it (jStepChild) working, and multiple Java plugs are now possible.

Incidently it was a badly handled NullPointer from my code that caused the wrapper to spout shite to T and make it do it's usual unceremonius dissappearing act.

He sent me the new wrapper configured to run jStepChild but I'm getting...

** ERROR: cannot find static method _initPlugFromNative(Ljava/lang/String;Z)V
** java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: _initPlugFromNative

Am I being thick somewhere?

Ok, the problem was due to some leftover issues from the old version and has been solved by direct email communication.

Installation is really much easier with the new version of jVSTwRapper. I hope it will get published soon.
