MM2.3.1 How to remove/delete duplicates?2019-02-23T21:30:49+00:00Hi, please show me to the "How to" section.
Looking to remove and eventually delete duplicate VST plugins.

I just uploaded so the quality (resolution) may be sucky until it finishes processing.
Currently it's only half the resolution of what I uploaded.
Edit: March 2nd - replaced video with one that has better resolution.
I discovered when I got back that the help content for updated Dupe Fixer changes is missing...
I'm pretty sure I know what happened, part of a computer replacement saga, but that doesn't bring back the files.
So I'm going to have to recreate that whole section when I update the Help content.
I don't know if it was quicker to create the video but it's probably easier to absorb than reading about it.
Using MenuMagic's Dupe Fixer can help you identify and manage your VST dupes in Cakewalk or Sonar.
But it doesn't actually remove or delete them (see video for details) it keeps them from showing up in your plugin layout menus.
The benefit of this approach is that is undo-able if you make a mistake, discover that a VST2 plugin used in a project doesn't bring up the right patch when you switch to the VST3 version. etc.
Also if you use more than one DAW it may not support the same types of plugins - such as Ableton Live not currently (but soon with 10.1 release) not supporting VST3, or other DAWs only supporting either 32 bit of 64 bit.
The downside is all those dupes still get scanned by the VST Scanner so your scanning may take a bit longer, especially if you have a lot of plugins and don't have an SSD.
When i get a chance over the next couple of days I will post strategy that deals with all this and even make your life easier.
