Whats happened? I cant seem to access any of my sounds like I used to . I get the feeling Im missing something really obvious!? Thanks

Personally, I live and beathe with maschine. I can't function without it and the controller. I guess it depends what kind of music you make.DavidCarlyon wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2019 11:47 pm How are people feeling about this update? Honestly, i have had maschine for a while now, but it has had very little use of late.
I do love it, but it feels way too limited to use standalone, and in other DAWS i just end up using things native to that system, which have better automation, handling etc.
I kept it because i really want to fall back in love with it, but the software just feels more and more dated to me, and the updates seem fairly insignificant.
How do others feel? I hate to sound negative, im not trying to shit on NI: i have plenty of their products and always will have, but its just how i feel.

But this fuggin update is dogshit useless. Sounds.com crap. WTF is this? How about they focus on filling in some of the things that are missing in Maschine.
I use it in another DAW. I use Cubase. I basically make the rhythm parts and structure in Maschine, I turn up the swing all the way up and then throw VST synth and guitar tracks on it. I make sort of rock, blues, synthpopish stuff. I don't think I am a typical user of Maschine. I get the impression it's much bigger with Hip Hop and R&B music makers. I user a Mikro to control Maschine. Some old things i tinkered with you can hear in my sig.DavidCarlyon wrote: Tue Mar 05, 2019 10:57 amtelecode wrote: Tue Mar 05, 2019 12:39 amPersonally, I live and beathe with maschine. Yeah, exactly! You just highlighted my main issue with maschine.
May i ask what kind of music you make? I am making mostly house music now and i never see many house or techno producers on maschine, but that definitely doesn't mean they don't exist!
Do you mostly use it in standalone? Or in another DAW? and may i ask what you control with it?
I just started with reaper the other day. I could make an incredible control out of maschine, but i don't know if that is enough to justify having it....
Cheers!
My music is similar, rock/metal etc, I use Maschine for all sketches / drums then record my guitars into Bitwig.I use it in another DAW. I use Cubase. I have been using it more and more standalone recently, if you could record into the song view I could use it to make most of my music.

Point 1: No single DAW out there is "geared toward" any particular genre. Ableton is no more "geared toward" EDM than it is toward hip hop or, hell, country music. Whatever led you to believe it's "geared toward" EDM is, pure and simple, a load of BS / misinformation.telecode wrote: Tue Mar 05, 2019 3:16 pm
Just curious,.how are.you managing and finding Bitwig as a DAW for.rock/metal?
I thought it was.more like Ableton and greared towards EDM.
I might be looking to switch DAW to a more feature rich one. I am on Cubase and looking at either Reaper or Reason.
You make valid points but I am not sure the workflows for all DAW's are geared for any and all genres.mholloway wrote: Tue Mar 05, 2019 4:29 pmPoint 1: No single DAW out there is "geared toward" any particular genre. Point 2: Cubase is incredibly feature-rich. So much so that it's often criticized for being over-bloated with features. It's not my DAW of choice, but your statement about leaving it for a "more feature rich" DAW suggests you're not really aware of what the DAW you're already using is capable of.
No issues so far - I sometimes use session view to jam riffs, but it works in the same way as a normal DAW really has the standard linear view as well. I'm interested in the modular stuff that is coming in the next version.telecode wrote: Tue Mar 05, 2019 3:16 pmSlipgate wrote: Tue Mar 05, 2019 1:50 pmMy music is similar, rock/metal etc, I use Maschine for all sketches / drums then record my guitars into Bitwig.I use it in another DAW.
