Anyone notice a tendency of Reaper people with frequent shilling? It's very annoying IMO.

Some of us were seasoned musicians before there ever was any 'DAW' program and the reason for having one is that we have ideas. This promotion of REAPER as necessary is just talking like a cart pulls the horse, it's just completely fallacious. The whole post is ludicrous posturing, you use the superior DAW product. It's also placing production techniques on a pedestal as though this is right at the center of musical ideas, yet the "kids" and their "toys", 'inspired by options', is somehow something inferior even as it's the exact same type of notion of the thing.

This kind of nonsense post is why some people would vote REAPER as the one to hate, but it's the fanbois which are the real driver of the sentiment really.

asked, answered and covered enough for now I would say, I would hope that merry-go-round has moved onto the next show
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Post

actually jan, i think you will find, all music recorded previous to reaper being available was "amateur"

stupid bach didn't even use reaper :dog:

Post

ps: did i really just see you comment on a trap banger? or am i high?

Post

it's all toys, I say to myself happily 'I''m playing with my toys now".

But REAPER is SO buttugly that things which you can stand to look at for an extended time are for children, and people who want better ergonomics are to be put in our place as unserious and trivial,

Yeah, I was also listening to Fifth Harmony, "Work At Home". Somehow that stupid song really does it for me.
Most of that stuff is so terrible the good stuff is noticeable. There was no banging! It was pretty subtle, dey smoking some blunts or sometin

Post

ill have to give it a listen.

yeah, you can find good examples of anything, if you are willing to trawl through the less good stuff :hihi:

Post

I'm not, though. I got lucky. The Work At Home thing is used in porn like a lot.

I am surprised over the hat for Reaper, for me, Reaper is the best daw, I love the workflow, easy to do a lot of things super quickly. Shure maybe not the best looking daw, but I don't use a daw for the locks.

The are some things I'm missing, so I bought Cubase recently as a compliment, but Cubase has some major flaws, that prevent me from using it all the time. I have tried most of the daws, always going back to Reaper, So Reaper is the king.

I had a slight impulse to pick Reaper for this poll too, for this very reason. I had tried Reaper and didn’t like the GUI whatsoever. Then I would see continuous claims on forums about it being “superior because... reasons...” and “customization”, and it started to remind me of Blender and its similar scenario (in that case, a HORRIBlE GUI and super-vocal fanboys who act like you’re insane for criticizing Blender’s user-interface).

But I didn’t pick any DAW in the poll, per my prior post.

It's like everything else, it has it's good and it's bad. We should leave it there, it's not for everyone and that is fair.

The one I'm using.
