This old chestnut again...(Waveform 9)

I've got a clip going into Battery 4. Double note at the beginning every time.

I've tried it with a Step clip and a MIDI clip. It does the same in both if the clip is positioned at 1,1,000 and the first note is at 1,1,000. If the note is moved later than 1,1,000 or the clip is moved away from 1,1,000, there are no double notes.

If I add multiple notes at 1,1,000, they all get repeated.

Can you send me the Edit file that exhibits this behaviour (and has this MIDI monitor so I can verify if changes I make solve the problem)?

I'll make this a priority.

Here you go. It happens on almost every edit.

You'll need Reaktor 6.

I can't seem to replicate this in W10 or W9.
I just get a single note on no matter how many times I start the playback.

I wonder what else could be going on? There's definitely only a single note in the Edit file.

Do you know what the "Reset" message refers to? It only seems to get displayed when starting from time 0.

I've just looked into the ensemble and you can ignore the Start/Reset/Stop signals. It looks like they're being generated outside of the MIDI data. Sorry for any confusion about that. You can click on "Settings" and disable them.

Do you know why you're not getting the Reset Ctrl/Notes Off CCs either.

If I send out to a Loopback device and into MIDI-OX, it shows the same double note.

It looks like it's something to do with an internal state problem in Tracktion.

I just did the following:
  • I created a new edit and put only the MIDI Monitor in. There was no double note.
  • I saved the edit.
  • I closed the edit and re-opened it. There was no double note.
  • I loaded in the DoubleNote edit that was provided in the zip file above. There was a double note.
  • With both edits still open, I switched back to the new edit. There was no double note.
  • I went to the DoubleNote edit and copied (Ctrl+C) the Collective plugin.
  • I went back to the new edit and pasted Collective in after the MIDI Monitor. There was now a double note.
  • I deleted the Collective plugin. There still was a double note
  • I closed both edits (but did not close Tracktion).
  • I re-opened the new edit that did not originally produce a double note until Collective was pasted in. There was now a double note
  • I closed and restarted Tracktion and re-opened the new edit. There was no double note.
  • I dragged in Synth1 and put it after the MIDI Monitor. There was a double note
  • I closed Tracktion and restarted Tracktion again and re-opened the new edit. There was no double note.
  • I dragged in a second ReaktorFX instance and put it after the MIDI Monitor. There was a double note.
  • And here's where it gets weirder...without closing anything, I opened an existing larger edit and put the MIDI Monitor in the first track. There was no double note.
  • I went back to the new edit. There was no double note.
  • I dragged in a Synth1 VST again after the MIDI Monitor. There was no double note.
  • I went to the larger edit and deleted the MIDI Monitor.
  • I went back to the new edit. I pressed Play again. There was no double note.
  • I put the position pointer back to zero and pressed Play. There was a double note.
Bizarre behaviour. It should at least give you something to go on so that you can try something similar on your end to get it to switch into what I can only describe as 'double note mode'.
