As i wrote above, i don't think there is a way to demo it. As you said, it won't show up in Halion Sonic SE.

Do you guys have the latest version - on the bottom of the page it says this:

"Pease note that this library requires at least HALion 6.2, HALion Sonic 3.2 or HALion Sonic SE 3.2. "

My guess is that it just won't show up in Halion as long as there is no license found.

The HALion filter is very flexible and powerful. You can design your own filter by combining several HALion filters.
In combination with scripting and the modulation matrix, a new filter for RAST-A has been developed.
A trial version is not available yet, but we are working on it.

New rule.....your synth has to be more complex than your download/install/authorize procedure. So I'd need to install HalionSonic SE and their Download/Licenser software just for yet another simple VA ? I own Retrologue and don't even have it installed any longer due to all the fluff and blubber it requires and I can't sell it because it would cost me more than I would get to buy a hardware dongle even though it's only using their e-licenser.

Steinberg can kiss my RAST.......

RAST-A does not have a Demo yet, but there will be one available in the future. You need a full license, and you also need to have HALion Sonic 3 Installed.

Bringing this thread back to life as its on sale for 50% off.

Who else got the Rast-A? Any feedback or thoughts? I am going through the YT vids on it. Can't decide if its different enough from other synths I have that its worth getting it yet.

oh yeah. you are totally right. i misread the ad .i thought it was all 50% off everything. only padshop and some halion is at 50%.

oh well. i guess that settles the decision for me. i guess i will just hang out until it drops ot 50% off one day.

I don't like that approach where you need another product/platform to use a product. I prefer totally independent plugins. As if Steinberg's VST standard were not Steinberg enough in our lives already

For the same reason I don't use any Kontakt stuff.
