Tracktion 7 - No longer hear any audio for playback, but...

Hello,
I am using T7 along with the Behringer UM2 USB 2 track audio device. I have registered the free version, used it a couple times without issue, until now.
Using a drums VST, I was able to create and hear the drums I was creating. There were ! points stating these were MIDI and might not be able to be played back however I was able to hear the drums no problem.
I moved onto guitar and was able to record my guitar, saw the wave forms and audio matched what I was doing. To ensure it was recording through the UM2 I shouted to make sure it wasn't picking up from a microphone, confirmed it wasn't.
When I play back the guitar track I cannot hear a damn thing, nothing. I have checked my Audio settings, ASIO set for input output. I even disconnected everything, rebooted my Win10 system, same issue, no guitar playing. Choosing Test I hear the beep, so audio is coming through.
Odd thing, if I go into T7, Projects, I see the 4 guitar tracks that I recorded, 3 of them I should and have deleted prior but they are there. I can play the guitar tracks just fine here, no issues, they sound fine.
Now I cannot hear the drums either...
So, what could possibly be the problem? Both the guitar and midi drum tracks are set Output to default audio, I have tried the other options which result in no sound or the same situation. I am not sure what I have done, nothing is set to mute or solo either but as of right now my 2 hour project is silent and I can't seem to get back to where I need to be.
Thanks!

What audio device IS your default output device; and are the final output from all tracks going to default audio...?
Do you see the playback levels bouncing on the vertical bars on the right of the tracks? (Audio and VST from MIDI drums should both show up).
Are you sure nothing is solo'd or muted?
Is the master level bouncing and you can't hear (again, that will be the default output device).

Thanks Peter for the response. Here are the answers
Q: What audio device IS your default output device: All are set at the Behringer UM2 USB 2. A: Selecting from the pull down, there is now option to select Input/Output as say when you use Windows Audio which can be separated out. My headphones are through the Behringer. I do have a computer speaker as well and that has worked but it too now is silent.
Q: And are the final output from all tracks going to default audio...?
A: Yes. The midi drums as well as my guitar are state default audio.
Q: Do you see the playback levels bouncing on the vertical bars on the right of the tracks? (Audio and VST from MIDI drums should both show up).
A: Yes I do. Lower right as well as my Track 1 Guitar are all acting as if I am playing whether that is live or playback. Those tracks cannot be heard on the multitrack screen, but back to the Project Screen I can play back and hear all my guitar tracks as normal. The drums, now, are totally silent.
Q: Are you sure nothing is solo'd or muted?
S: Yes. I even cycled through the S/M options, rebooted the computer, reattached the audio devices, removed and reinstalled the drivers, nothing now.
Q: Is the master level bouncing and you can't hear (again, that will be the default output device).
A: Correct, everything "looks" normal in this regard, just silent regardless of audio output device. Windows speakers, headphones with Monitoring Active or off.
Thanks again! If you require any screenshots I should be able to provide them if that would help?

Still cannot hear ANY play back using any ASIO or ASIO 4All drivers. Can hear the drums fine now, just have to activate the VST every time but thats ok.
So far the Behringer with Tracktion 7 is a bust. Will try another program and if it too fails this UM2 will go under my car tire.

a screenshot of your audio devices settings in Tracktion would be helpful.

What you are describing does not sound like it could possibly be an issue with the interface; chances are you will have the same problem with another interface and the same project.GC65 wrote: Mon May 13, 2019 4:15 am So far the Behringer with Tracktion 7 is a bust. If the "!" is still there, then that is a problem that should be tracked down and fixed. If memory serves this usually pops up if you have MIDI data on a track that does not have a virtual instrument or other MIDI receiver as the first plugin in the channel strip.GC65 wrote: Mon May 06, 2019 8:05 pm Using a drums VST, I was able to create and hear the drums I was creating. Hello,
Thanks for the responses. I downloaded Audacity and did a couple tracks. Recording and playback worked just fine, zero issues, though I don't want to learn a new program I may have to.
Attached are several screenshots. So far, I can record and hear the drums from the VST without issue, though messing around with the audio output settings can hobble that but I can always get it back with ease.
The guitar input into the Behringer USB M2 device still shows recording and acts as if it is registering correctly, meaning if I strike a chord the on screen input reacts correctly. If I go to the PROGRAM folder I can see all my guitar tracks and play them back just fine, I just cannot play them on the track screen at all.
I have uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled the ASIO and Behringer ASIO drivers as well as tracktion itself, still nothing. I am at my wits end and have spent nearly an entire day which could have been better spent learning something similar that works out of the box. I don't know where to go from here.
Technical:
1. I have tried all Audio Settings within Tracktion 7 and written down every Input Output attempts to see if I can get different results.
2. I have unplugged, removed drivers, reinstalled as mentioned above.
3. This used to work.
4. I have tried new projects just to make sure I didn't enable something like a mute on a previous project.
5. Audacity works just fine using similar settings.

Last picture, I can hear ALL the guitar tracks just fine here on this screen. Just cannot hear them at all within the tracks listed where I have about 5 or more VST drum tracks.
Thanks for any help folks!

Ok, so the sound is being recorded correctly, and playing back through the projects tab, but not playing back in the actual timeline.
To help diagnose that I believe we will need to see what is in the channel strip to the right of the second screenshot.
Having those "!" icons on the drum tracks is not normal and I'd be curious about what is going on there too...

Here are 2 screencaps for the ASIO options I have, one from Behringer the other ASIO4All.
I am not sure what to do here or why the drums are fine yet exhibit the !.

Straight off the bat, it doesnt look like Tracktion Problem2.JPG or Tracktion Problem5.JPG show a setup where the main audio pair is being routed through the Behringer. I think its giving you an aggregate device where the Behringer is outputs 3 and 4.

WIthin Tracktion 7 there is an option to treat as Stereo or Mono for outputs. I have tried both and mapped the tracks to use one or the other, this usually results in silence. Placing all tracks in Default Audio Device/Output allows the VST drum tracks to be heard through the head phone monitors, however the guitar track wav output is never heard no matter what I try or whatever device I use, yet the input as mentioned before is being recorded on the Project Page.

Im not sure that's related to what Im saying, though I'll admit I could be misunderstanding. In your ASIO4All setup, your main audio output, which is what all your audio will be going through by default, is -not- the Behringer, its the onboard soundcard. ASIO4All looks like its set up to 'join' the onboard soundcard with the Behringer into a single 'aggregate' device that combines all the inputs and outputs of both. That setup has the onboard soundcard as the main output pair.GC65 wrote: Mon May 13, 2019 9:09 pm WIthin Tracktion 7 there is an option to treat as Stereo or Mono for outputs. See where it says 'Track Destination' in the Problem1.jpg, on the lower right? That's saying the Default audio output is being used for the output of that track. According to Problem2 and Problem6 (sorry got that wrong and said Problem5 previously), the default output for ASIO4All is the onboard HD Audio Output soundcard, not the Behringer.
Thats unrelated to whether the track is Mono/Stereo.
Try changing the option in Track Destination for the guitar track through whatever options you get offered, and test each one.
Im assuming your speakers/headphones are connected to the Behringer?
I may be completely off base, here, but not being able to see your MIDI devices setup, or the plugins on the tracks, the fact that you can hear MIDI when there's the '!' marks on the tracks also makes me wonder if you're outputting MIDI to the PC's onboard MIDI device, not a VST.

Hmmm, I see what you are saying. I have tried all the hardware options such as Windows Audio, Windows Audio Exclusive and the two ASIO option (Behringer and 4All). Only the 4All gives me the option to shut off say the onboard audio and just use the Behringer output either as Output 1+2 or mono divided Output 1 and Output 2.
We may be onto something with the MIDI. I have no physical Midi device but I am using MT Power Drumkit to create my drums, is this called a VST? Perhaps thats causing the problem, how I don't know. but maybe it is taking over the audio output completely?
