Hello! First time poster here.
I just recently bought Zebra2 and are having a blast with it. I have usually only made music that included guitars, bass and drums and are just now delving into the pits of sonic possibilites that are synthesizers.
I have a little project in Live 10 that I wanted to record, after spending some afternoons on a couple of patches. I have been playing in the session view, using a novation LaunchKey mini's knobs to tweak the XY knobs inside Zebra. Here's the catch though, as soon as I hit the record button and it starts recording to arrange view, the knobs lose all function and won't move inside Zebra. I assume it's a setting somewhere, because if I link the knobs on the keyboard to a parameter in one of Live's effects it works just fine, so I assume it has to do with Zebra?
I'm not a MIDI guru, far from it, I beat my head against my desk for 4 hours trying to link my Max49's tempo to Live only to realize I had to change the clock to external, but that's beside the point.
I hope someone could enlighten me to how I can keep jamming with my knobs working, and also recording it into the arrange view!
Thanks a lot for your time!
Having trouble recording XY automation in Ableton Live 10

Could be a number of things so process of elimination.
First is the little automation overdub box up by the transport controls in live on? It looks like 2 little circles joined by a line, make sure that's on otherwise you can tweak away all day whilst recording and it won't do a thing.
Also have you assigned the x/y to your controller via the midi learn in live? And first pressed the green configure button in the plug in box to perform the midi learn?

Automation Arm is armed and ready to go. I have not however assigned the knobs via Live. I did it all "in house" in the Zebra2 plugin, so maybe that's it.. I feel kinda stupid, because I can't actually figure out how to do this? Figure it has something to do with the MIDI Map Mode Switch in the top right corner?
Edit:
I feel so stupid (again)... I had no idea I could activate the MIDI mapping and just click the knob in the plugin. Thanks a whole lot, I was about to start pulling hair out in frustration!

This brought forth a new problem though.. One I can work around, I am sure..
As per now my setup is kinda small and I only have 8 knobs in front of me. I had these mapped to the 8 XY knobs in Zebra, and they would tweak whatever synth was in the armed channel. The way it is now the knobs will still tweak the same parameters of the other synth even when I have a different one armed and playing.
Is there a way to make the knobs move over to the new channel I am fiddling with, or is the easiest solution to get a MIDI controller with a whole lot of knobs and just assign each one?
Edit 2:
Worked it out, MIDI Channels

Cool glad it's sorted. And don't feel stupid, I've been meddling with synths for a long time but still get stuck trying to work certain things out
