Hi

When I installed Zebra 2.8 on my new Mac I followed the instructions to restart the DAW after entering the serial number. I did that, but then when I opened a new instance of Zebra it asked me for the serial number again. I installed Zebra HZ and applied the correct serial number and after the thank you pop up I turned off the DAW. However on Zebra HZ too I keep being asked for the serial number gain and again. The Zebra 2 version is 7422 and the DarkZebra is version 2.8. I am using Studio One 4.5 on Mac OS 10.14.5. Hope you can help

Hi

Instead of closing the DAW I just closed and re-opened the UI and that solved the problem.

Almost sounds like there's a permissions issue which prevents the serial number file to be properly written.

(about 2 years ago) I had a detailed explanation from a U-he support guy called Rob which fixed this problem and it was then all about the permissions (will paste the last bit of his email below) but I tried those instructions just now and they didn't solve the issue. Back then the OS was Sierra so maybe its something to do with Mac OS changes...I don't know.

---------pasted from that email------

From there, continue on down to this path:
Macintosh HD/Users/YOUR_USERNAME/Library/Application Support/

In that path, find the folder called "u-he" and right-click (or Ctrl-click) it and select
"Get Info" from the context menu. This will bring up a dialog will all sorts of
information about the u-he folder. At the very bottom of this dialog should be a section
labelled "Sharing & Permissions", if it is collapsed (little arrow icon pointing to the
right and no table visible) then you may have to click the little arrow icon to expand
that section.

It *should* be sufficient if the table in that section shows your user name with "Read &
Write" privileges, and other entries (staff, everyone) as "Read only". If your name does
not show "Read & Write" but also something like "Read only", then click on "Read only" and
select "Read & Write" from the popup menu.

Regardless of whether you had to change anything in the table or not, please go through
the following steps once the table looks as it should (your user set to "Read & Write"
privileges).

In the bottom right corner of the folder info dialog is a little padlock icon. Click it,
and you will be prompted to enter your account information. This step is necessary to
authorize for and unlock the following functionality.

Once you've authorized and the padlock icon now looks like an open lock, click the little
cog wheel icon at the bottom left of the screen and a popup menu will drop down.

If the first entry in that popup menu ("Make (me) the owner") is written in dark black, so
it's "clickable", then please click it. If it's grayed out, then your account already is
the "owner" of that folder, so just continue with the next step.

Click the little cog wheel icon again, this time select the second entry from the
dropdown, "Apply to enclosed items", and confirm the following question dialog with "OK".

It may be necessary to log out of and back in to your user account, but the above
procedure should solve the issue.

Is this forum serious about customer support or is it just a chat room?
24hrs and not even an attempt at a reply to help me.
I only paid hundreds of dollars for 2 synths I can't use until this is solved. Thanks

Please send a mail to our support with such issues.
It's very likely simply a problem with folder permissions.
Individual installation and registration issues are usually handled through our support team.
This forum is more for when you need help from the user community.
