Virtual Keyboard: Customizing, QWERTZ, deactivate shortcut keys?

Hello,
I have been playing around with the virtual keyboard. The basic functioning is clear. It uses the computer keyboard keys ASDFGHJK (white piano keys) and WETZU (black piano keys) to play one(!) octave.

1) I was hoping it could be customized and extended with a solution like creating a text file that defines which computer keyboard key triggers which note which would allow to extend the range of notes and to define more specific mappings (like "white keys only").
=> Is anything of that sort possible?

2) In specific, I have a problem with the default QWERTY setting since my keyboard is QWERTZ.
=> Is there a way to adapt the virtual keyboard to a QWERTZ keyboard?

3) When playing on the virtual keyboard aka my computer keyboard I get in trouble when accidentally clicking on "R" (which would be the halftone between E and F, I know it doesn't exist ;-)
=> Is there a setting to give the virtual keyboard a higher priority than, say, other shortcuts (like the "R" which would start recording)? (I thought the "lock" icon in the upper left corner could do it, but that is not the case.)
