Do you use chord generator tools or similar plugins to create chords? Which ones?

How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

The latter, of course...

Random Chord Generator from Audiomodern, nice if you're out of ideas

Post

A few weeks ago I bought a ukulele. It's different from other 4-string instruments cuz you usually play chords. As I learn some beginner songs, I notice how you can play an amazing variety using two handfuls of chords but vary the strumming patterns (broken chord voicings), groove and progression.

This made me think about what makes a music 'genre' and the similarities among folk, Hawaiian and reggae. Which reminded me about all those midi chord packs based on a genre, producer, artist or song. They are "human-generated chord tools" that I will check out, to experiment with different styles.

Like in this Sound on Sound "one hour" video, Jay-Z/Beyonce producer !llmind searches a bunch of ADSR Sounds chord packs to find one in the right key to accompany a recorded vocal, and then uses Cthulhu to trigger chords and find a good progression. I like how he listens, uses old familiar software versions, and immediately prints plugins to audio!

I only have Rapid Composer but they have other apps as well.

If you buy version 4 of Rapid Composer, they just created a beta for a MIDIFX for Logic users, this is working great. :D
