MSoundFactory inside MXXX versus by itself?

I don't believe so, it's just more fiddly to use the effects as modules within MXXX than standalone by itself... but you get the advantage of linking multiparameters and modulators between modules when using MXXX. e.g. add a MSoundFactory and a MPowersynth in MXXX and control parameters in both together via a single Multiparameter.

You could place an instance of both MSF and MPS in the FX tab of MSF itself and do the same thing. MXXX does offer twice as many standard modulators (16, each with Follower and Pitch options, NOT in MSF's modulators) compared to MSF's 8 so it improves on MSF in that regard, but just placing MSF inside itself would give you 16 total MSF-flavored modulators without MXXX… In general, it seems that MXXX is either the same as or slightly more powerful than MSF in any given area, so that would imply that there are only benefits and no limitations when running MSF inside MXXX.
Note that my only experience with these possibilities comes from trying things out with the MXXX that's already inside MSF, since I don't have the full version. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some additional benefits to using the full version that I don't know about.
