Notes taken while doing some Multi Sampling

UI/General:
• Many buttons lack tooltips.
• Accidentally selecting another preset while aiming for "Save As..." does not result in a confirmation dialog, and cannot be undone; happily the slices in the Record pane are left intact.
• The "*" display of a new preset remains "*" even after saving it.

UI/Record pane:
• Using the mouse wheel to scroll horizontally is good for small movements (and come to think of it, it'd be nice if the main Waveform window would allow it), but a scroll bar is badly needed.
• The zoom focus point starts off as the mouse pointer position but gets forgotten at some point, causing the display to zoom to parts unknown.
• There is no minimum display width for a slice, so invisible ones are all too possible (see "Automatic slicer" below).
• The Play/Remove/etc. contextual menu responds to arrows and Enter (yay) but not P and R (boo).
• A click anywhere on the waveform triggers playing from the start of the recording (playing the clicked slice would be less annoying) but does not interpret a second click as a signal to stop playing (and doesn't respond to the defined stop key).
• The Create Sound Layers from slices function...
• ...asks for a name, but doesn't append a number per slice, so created slices all get the same name
• ...would benefit from edit boxes, as waiting for the lists to appear and possibly scroll is time consuming
• ...could be smarter: e.g. given a note span of 12, if there are 11 slices that means start at C-1.

UI/Sound pane:
• The ADSR edit boxes could use some tooltips to indicate their number base, since they frequently display values in ms rather than decimal s.

UI/Zones pane:
• The low/high/root edit boxes don't support tab-between-boxes, so making adjustments for deleted invisible slices is even more time consuming.

Automatic slicer:
• The maximum setting often yields the divisions I'd expect from the minimum setting.
• A list-box of slices that can be selected en masse to be deleted (or merged) would be helpful.
• A time-based slice mode (the notes I was sampling were all the same length but have a lot of misleading transients) would also be helpful.

The next day I discovered that the presets I'd made add quite a delay on the display of the plugins section of the browser pane; apparently they're not just noted by name, but preloaded besides; I moved them all out of the presets folder.

I also discovered that presets are saved with the .tracktionedit...on a per-track basis, not deduplicated.
