umm dont think that is really a tracktion problem however since its my only host im posting it here.

tracktion wont acknowledge any of my cd drives on my comp. if i try to import audio from the cd "tracktion cannot find any suitable drives." i just installed the 1.6 update hoping that it would remedy that error but no such luck. :x

any help will be appreciated.

sorry, latest T1.6 works fine here. Click on import (bottom left), select 'audio file from cd' / 'track from cd' (whatever it is), cd drive is automatically fired up and list of tracks appear to select from.

It's definitely not Tracktion. CD audio import has worked for me since September 2003.

Anything else would be speculation, but it sounds an awful lot like a straight-up wonky drive, wonky drivers, or crapped out lens issue.

IS your CD-ROM in fact installed correctly? Ie. take the SAME disc, and just browse to the desired folder using Windows Explorer. No problems?

Dunno what to tell ya... that really IS a first!

CD drives are made very cheaply these days; I got a dodgy one, and nothing would read it. I suspect the hardware.

Yeah... CD drives are god-awful these days, to the point where when I do my next build, I'm going to find the most RELIABLE one rather than the fastest one. I don't care if I get someone's old used drive at 16X, as long as it WORKS.

i know its noe the 1.6 that did it... i have been import things from cds since i had it (1.2).

it is the original dvd and cdrw drive but the thing thats boggling me is that they werk normal in windows but as soon as i try to use them in another program they are not recognised. e.g. tracktion or NI tracktor 2.1
