Hi, I recently purchased Sylenth1 and was using if for about two weeks when it suddenly gave me this error. The only way I was able to fix it was by uninstalling it (I couldn't even deregister my device, I had to manually delete the license.dat file and use one of my 10 online deactivations.) After I reinstalled, it worked again, but I have since had the error 3 more times, each within two days of each other. I've used two more online deactivations, but really want to get to the root of this problem instead of using up all my deactivations and still have the problem. Here is a picture of what I see the second I try booting it up. Can't find anything on this error ANYWHERE, so I'm at a loss. Anyone have an idea?

Similar problem here. I always get the message "Sylenth1 has detected a problem with the file signature (-2146762486) and will now close." when I start to try running the plugin. I also contacted LennarDigital because of this and got the answer to install the latest update version 3.055. So I did, but in the result nothing changed. I'm still getting the message above. Still not working. And of course I deinstalled everything concerning Sylenth1 before installing version 3.055. I'm out of ideas now...

Hi, please note that this is not the same error, although both are related to file signature.
From what I understand you are running Windows XP, which is an outdated OS. You need to install the root certificates update so that XP can verify the signature.

As for the other error, I haven't seen that one before and I really can't find anything that could cause this. Which makes me believe that either there is some kind of virus on your computer messing with the binary files, or your windows installation is messed up.

Some things you could try though:
- Rightclick your DAW icon and select 'Run as administrator' (does that change anything?)
- Make sure your computer is properly connected to the internet and your firewall is disabled (or exclusions are added for your DAW software)
- Try running a scan on your Windows system files: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use- ... s-10-image
- Re-install Sylenth1 again (you don't have to deactivate it, just delete the Sylenth1 folder manually, then uninstall).
- Try running Sylenth1 in a different host (such as Savihost) and check if you get the same error there too:
https://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm

And about the online deactivations, I've reset them for you. Please note that it is not needed to delete the activation if you're re-installing on the same OS. Only if you format your drive and re-install Windows (which would be my last solution), you may need to delete the activation.

Hope that helps!

- Rightclick your DAW icon and select 'Run as administrator' (does that change anything?)
Tried that, no effect.
- Make sure your computer is properly connected to the internet and your firewall is disabled (or exclusions are added for your DAW software)
Added FL to the exclusions list, no effect.
- Try running a scan on your Windows system files
Even if this were the issue, a fresh install is out of the question since this is my work laptop that I also take home and use. Device is managed by my work so I can't just reinstall Windows without a hassle.
- Re-install Sylenth1 again (you don't have to deactivate it, just delete the Sylenth1 folder manually, then uninstall).
This is currently the only thing that works. :(
- Try running Sylenth1 in a different host (such as Savihost) and check if you get the same error there too:
I'll try this next time the issue comes up.
And about the online deactivations, I've reset them for you. Please note that it is not needed to delete the activation if you're re-installing on the same OS. Only if you format your drive and re-install Windows (which would be my last solution), you may need to delete the activation.
Thanks for the info about not needing to deactivate, for now I've just been uninstalling and reinstalling as that takes all of 2 minutes. My guess honestly is that something with the filter that my work has is interfering. That would certainly explain why I seem to be the only person experiencing this issue. :/

You don't have to do a fresh install. Just follow these instructions:

1. Open Start.
2. Search for Command Prompt, right-click the top result, and select the Run as administrator option.
3. Type the following command to perform an advanced DISM scan and press Enter:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

4. If it finds issues, run this:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

5. Type the following command to run System File Checker:

SFC /scannow

Tried that, it said the scan was performed successfully and no errors found... :/

Hey everyone, been emailing back and forth with Lennard and here is what we came up with. I'll just copy/paste the exchange so if this pertains to anyone else they might be able to fix it as well.

L: Hi, Whenever you have this error, can you start a command prompt (from the Start menu) and type: certutil -verifystore and certutil -verifystore root and send both outputs here?

I did this and sent him the logs, which he looked over and replied.

L: Great, thanks. So the problem is that for some reason the "COMODO RSA Certification Authority" certificate is not available in the ceritificate store on your computer. This is a standard root certificate used by all Comodo signed certificates and is by default installed whenever you open internet and browse to pretty much any website. Do you have any SSL problems on your computer when browsing the internet, like some websites not using https (the lock-icon left to the URL name)? Either way, the Sylenth1 installer installs this certificate, which is why it works fine shortly after installing Sylenth1 (you can run certutil -verifystore again and notice that the COMODO RSA certificate is available). But after that some process or service on your computer seems to be removing the certificate, or resetting the ceritifcate store for some reason. You'll have to find out what software on your computer could be doing this (and why).

Me: "So, looking through the task scheduler on my laptop, it looks like there is a task scheduled for 8:00AM every day and at each user logon in \Microsoft\Windows\CertificateServicesClient with the description, "Certificate Services Client automatically manages digital identities such as Certificates, Keys and Credentials for the users and the machine, enabling enrollment, roaming and other services." I'm assuming this is automatically removing the certificate as it is not in the predefined list of certificates managed by our group policy settings? If I were to talk to our system administrator, what would I need to ask him to change to allow that certificate? Any ideas?

L: Hi, He should make sure to include the COMODO RSA Certification Authority root certificate, which can be downloaded here: https://comodosslstore.com/resources/wh ... authority/ (at the bottom of the page: 'Click here if you need to download the Comodo RSA Certificate Authority root.')

I will talk to our sysadmin soon to see if I can get him to add COMODO to our allowed certificates in our group policy, fingers crossed. If he doesn't, guess I'll just have to live with installing and uninstalling. If he does, I will update back if that fixes the issue. Hope this can help someone else!

Hi, I also had this error message ... (- 2146869243) on Windows 7 32 Bit
with my Offline Music-PC.
Sylenth1 could not be loaded into the VST-Host

Internet Error Description:
0x80096005 "-2146869243" TRUST_E_TIME_STAMP The timestamp signature and / or certificate could not be verified or malformed

Trials with the above suggestions did not succeed.

Searching the internet via this error message led me to 'rootsupd.exe'
which ultimately brought success.
'rootsupd.zip' can be downloaded from the following sites:

https://blog.wydler.eu/2017/06/17/vertr ... alisieren/ (https://blog.wydler.eu/2017/06/17/vertrauenswuerdige-stammzertifizierungsstellen-manuell-aktualisieren/)

https://dl.wydler.eu/index.php/s/9R2faiepodXZyQW (https://dl.wydler.eu/index.php/s/9R2faiepodXZyQW)

finally Sylenth1 is running.

No need to install that package!

It seems that on some older outdated Windows 7 systems you may need to have the AddTrust External CA Root certificate installed: https://support.comodo.com/index.php?/K ... al-ca-root

However, this certificate is outdated and will expire in 2020. So instead you should make sure to install the latest Windows updates to fix the problem, so that Windows can use the installed Comodo RSA root certificate instead (and you no longer need the AddTrust External CA Root certificate!)
