I'd like to be able to not just mute a track, but disable its playback completely.
Often, I have work track that I probably never want to use again. For example, multiple takes of vocals are comped then rendered so the source files are probably never needed again, but it's good practice to keep them there until the track is completely finished just in case. If I solo and un-solo a track in "Exclusive solo" mode, they become audible again when their mute is autmoatically disabled. It's gets very tiresome re-muting them all again.
I'm currently enabling the unused SP/DIF on my audio card and routing them to that, but it should be very easy for the devs to add a track output destination of "none" instead.
FR: Switch off track completely [Solved]

I never use the track list. I thought it was only useful for hiding tracks, not disabling them completely. Thanks for that, it makes things much cleaner.
It's a shame that the post title can't have a "[SOLVED]" added to it.

You're right. The subject of the first post is the title of the thread, so editing the first post allows you to change the title.
