ok. I'm starting this thread because I'm gonna release this damn konstrux sample mangle thingie this weekend. I threw together two files... one recorded form the GranuMangler Rack Filter, and the other from the SampleMangler Rack Filter. I figure I might as well post them so you can hear what this stuff can kinda do. These examples aren't the best, it's just me mousing around while recording it live so it might be repetative but it will eventually change. Also on the samplemangler demo which is just a jazzanova drum track, I didn't try to make any really cool breaks out it.. I was just dickin' around. It's more or less to say, "hey it's real easy to rearrage breaks with it live."

Making demos sucks...

so here are the sounds...

red pill - a granular mangling sampler (Jackson 5 - Ain't no sunshine, cos you're in hell!)

blue pill - a simple slicing sampler (Jazzanova - just a little break resorted).

they are about 9mins each... might demonstrate the capabilities of the racks I guess if you are into more experimental stuff. The only addition is a bit of reverb. The granu thing can make a lot more bizarre stuff than demo'ed. It can really f**k some shit up if you tweak hard oni it.. or feed it with really interesting samples.

Wow, these sound like a whole new world of tweaking ready for exploration! So many ideas come to mind just from the first minute of the first mp3 demo. I am never going to learn the guitar if you keep giving us such cool toys to play with!!

Youve just elivated Tractor from a tool to an musical instrumet

It sounded like what a DJ battle 20 years from now...Cant wait to get my hands on these because The only way I can do anything near that now is with Live and a crap load of editing

How long is the drum loop you are using in the second example? One measure? You certainly get a lot out of it!

that drumloop was 1 bar, about 2 seconds...

I'm trying to add midi control over some params for better live tweaking. Regardless, it will be out in the next 3 days because I gotta get it off my machine!

I've been working on this stuff for a while.. it's making me crazy (my left eye has started twitching).
