- Create a MIDI clip. We'll call this A. Put some notes in it.
- Drag out a linked copy using the link icon at the top of the clip. We'll call this B.
- Move some notes in A and those notes in B will move, and vice versa. All is fine here.
- Ctrl+drag B to make a copy that we will call C.
- Move some notes in C and those notes in A will move, but those in B will not. B has been removed from the link group, but appears to still be in its own solo link group.
- Right-click A and do copy
- Put the cursor further down the timeline and paste (Ctrl+V).
- A copy of A appears that is not linked to a, but is in another new solo link group.
