Biotek 2 Ring Display problem

I'm trying out Waveform 10 and Biotek 2, now that they are on sale. Biotek 2 has this nice Ring Display, but it's totally unusable on my system, unless I set it to Low in preferences. At ECO and Standard, the graphics (not only in the Ring Display, but also the knobs) get laggy and stuttery. Unusable.

I know that the moving graphics in the Ring Display are just a visual gimmick and not necessary at all, but I just can't stand it that it won't work properly on my system. This is an iMac 2017, i7, with a Radeon Pro 580 8 GB graphics card. I'm using Catalina, but I tried Biotek 2 before on Mojave, and I remember I had the same problem. Disabling Open GL makes it even worse (spinning beachball at every movement inside the Ring Display, even at the Low setting).

It seems like not many people are having this issue... Does anybody have any idea at what could cause this? All my other plugins (except for one, which has that same stuttery graphics problem) work as expected.
