There are several of us who have posted here that we are running Padshop 2 on a Windows 7 setup with no problems. I'm running Cubase 10 Pro, not 10.5 so I can't speak to that. Best of luck.Izak Synthiemental wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 2:23 pm Anyone who runs Cubase 10.5 / Padshop 2 on a Windows 7 setup? I know that Steinis do now longer officially support Windows 7 since 10.5, but since I don't plan to change my current Win 7 based setup anytime soon, I wonder whether it's safe to upgrade to 10.5 (I still have an unactivated upgrade license sitting in my account).
I suspect that there aren't too many elemental changes in the code base from 10.x to 10.5, so I guess it should run. I specifically wonder whether plugins like the new Padshop 2 and the current edition of Groove Agents SE work on Windows 7? I'm pretty confident that all the bundled Cubase FX and the instruments / synths do, except maybe for the new tap delay?
Does anyone run Cubase 10.5 on a Windows 7 machine and if so, what has your experience been like so far?

Fascinating, super cool, and great stuff. I hope others here actually listen to it (preferably in stereo). Reminds me of some of the electronic experiments of Eric Serra (say the underwater scenes in The Big Blue).Sampleconstruct wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 4:24 pm An experimental sound texture made with Padshop 2, using two spectral oscillators and samples I made with Sound Particles. Pretty weird stuff...

Don't know about 'good' but you might find these useful, although they are quite experimental as I basically made them for me and sharing them is just a by-product (some are very Luciano Berio influenced)

A Padshop 2 preset making use of the new spectral oscillator, utilizing the re-synthesized sample of hammering on the strings of a broken piano with a hammer.

Experiment: re-synthesizing a short voice recording (my own voice) with the spectral oscillator in Padshop 2, tweaking all sorts of parameters on the fly.

Sorry for the late reply, I'm using Padshop2 under Win7, my host is Bitwig, and so far it only crashed twice while I was browsing presets (and I was going kinda fast, not letting the sound finish playing before going on to the next preset) so I feel that's just a "normal" bug. Other than that, haven't had any issues.Izak Synthiemental wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 2:23 pm Anyone who runs Cubase 10.5 / Padshop 2 on a Windows 7 setup? ....

Pm'd!whyterabbyt wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 11:11 pm Anyone interested in a cheap upgrade code from Padshop? I mistakenly bought that instead of the (cheaper) upgrade from Padshop Pro. Be happy to sell it for the cost of the correct upgrade, so $10 or something cheaper than usual.
