Anyone know if it's possible to emulate the sound of Soundtoys' Crystallizer with MTurboDelay?
I've been trying out with the few of the buffer devices, but haven't had much success yet. Seems like there's always some unwanted click noises with the buffer devices or lacking stereo width controls. Somehow the Crystallizer seems to smooth out the clicks and noises coming from the buffer (which I'm assuming it's based on). Closest result I've had is probably with the "Nebula"-device and I've also tried with the "Tap my pitch up"-device, but the controls are a bit weird, even when using just 1 tap and 0% feedback I'm getting multiple delays. Also there's no stereo controls and the pitchshift is a bit grainy.
Since MTB is MXXX based, are there any plans to add more devices or update the existing ones? Would love a shimmering type of delay device, like a tap delay where each tap has pitch (+- 2octaves, preferably in in semitones, so you could do some detuning stuff too) + stereo controls for width among the usual tap parameters (level, feedback etc)
Crystallizer sounds with MTurboDelay?

Hey
OK, so a few things there......
First, the next update will fix the taps bug in MTD. It will work correctly after you update (should be very soon)
We probably could add devices to MTD if there were some good ideas/concepts.
"Tap My Pitch Up" already gives you what you are asking for, right? It has an independent pitch for each tap. The pitch shift might be a bit grainy to you because it is spectral. I suppose I could make another that can use a different pitch-shifting method like granular or vocoder? As for width what do you want? There are many ways to achieve width, it could be a difference in the delay times for each channel perhaps?
As for the plugin you mentioned, it is a granular effect so I would check out MGranular and also some devices in MTD would be "Unison" and "Particle physics"

Thanks for the response!
The biggest problem with the TMPU-device is that I get those buffer noise clicks with it. I don't know how or if it's possible to take buffer samples without them, but seems like many plugins manage to smooth out those somehow. With width I mean similar width controls as on some of the other devices. Right now it's stereo if the source is stereo, and mono if the source is mono. So maybe panning parameter for each tap? Also would it be super cpu heavy to have a reverse function for each tap?
I actually thought that the pitch-shifting in this device is granular, I can't say which method I'd prefer before hearing, but I guess some sort of masking of the artifacts could help on all of them, perhaps some sort of diffusion and/or saturation and such on the delays?

Yeah that seems to be more what I'm after, but I was hoping to get it done with the tools I already have. Crystallizer has a Black Friday sale ($29) so I guess I could just get that too, I was just wondering if I already had a plugin capable of doing that sound.jmg8 wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2019 10:38 am As for the plugin you mentioned, it is a granular effect so I would check out MGranular

With MXXX + Harmonizer + Granulizer + MRhythmizer (for reverse) + Feedback you can go far, maybe not the same exactly sound, but much more possibilities!
start with Granulizer + Feedback and see what you get
If you've MXXX, but hm, that doesn't seem to be the case?
