Hello. I found an issue in which playback creates a short fade-in. It happens with regular playback within Tracktion 7 and it is also printed in rendered audio. Here is an example.
1. I took a kick sample with clearly pronounced transient and made a 1 bar loop with it.
2. I rendered this loop to audio.
3. I sliced the audio into four separate kick samples.
4. I rendered those samples again. This time to separate files.
Problem is that first of these samples has modified start. Its transient is definitely softer compared to other kicks. It's not as vivid in rendered files, but I can clearly hear it when working in Tracktion 7.
During regular playback, when I place playback cursor at the beginning of the sample, this first sample has softer transient. When I place playback cursor a little earlier, all four samples sound the same.
Perhaps someone can verify this behaviour. It's really puzzling.
My OS is Windows 8.1 x64. I'm using ASIO drivers. I tested it with absolutely no plugins. I also have Reaper DAW and never had this type of issue.
I double-checked that there were no fade-ins or fade-outs created. I made sure that all audio was within rendered space and had no abrupt cut-offs.

I attached the same kick drum I mentioned in my previous post. Please download the sample. Open empty project in Tracktion and place this kick on each beat, creating one bar loop. Place loop markers around this bar. Turn on "LOOP" and start playback with cursor at the beginning. Does first kick sound different ?
