Triggering midi notes for MSoundFactory in MXXX based on audio input?

Haven't been able to figure out how to do this, anyone ideas on this?

I want an audio input going in to MXXX (which contains a SoundFactory) to trigger midi notes for the SoundFactory.

It doesn't even have to be the correct pitch, I just want to trigger a midi note for the duration of an input signal... a bit like an envelope modulator, but with the output being a midi note that is fed into the Soundfactory.

An example of a use-case would be a set of drum samples in Soundfactory that are triggered by an audio input. I'm actually using it for something far more wacky, but this is probably an easier to explain use-case.

I have a feeling this must have come up on here before... thoughts?

I do not think that MXXX routes internal MIDI. But, if it does, would a Tuner module help?

Yeah, I tried a tuner module set to midi out in MXXX and I don't get anything.

In fact, I just tried putting a MTuner effect in the chain as a separate plugin using it's midi output, with a Powersynth afterwards and it works correctly. If I take that same MTuner and recreate it in MXXX (via copy/paste) it will not drive the Powersynth. From this we can assume that midi out in MXXX (at least via the tuner module) does not work.

I'm afraid currently there is no MIDI routing - or more like the input MIDI is routed to all modules equally. Let's just say that MIDI routing would make things quite a hell of a lot more complicated (long story). Perhaps one day... For now, I'd simply use MTuner before MXXX to generate the MIDI - not ideal, since it cannot be a part of MXXX, but...
