Really, the forum is already back on version 2 suggestions and Mac users are still waiting for the last update so we can play with Final Mix.
I keep checking...
I'm not a developer. But it seems common sense to me that when you have limited resources, one platform will be worked on first, then the other. If thats the case, then releasing both at the same time IS special (and un fair) treatment becuase it withholds features from some users.james wrote:
...and no, I don't expect Mackie to make pc users wait until the mac version is ready. I expect features to be developed concurrently for all platforms that Mackie lists as supported.
I just don't get how asking for equal treatment amounts to asking for special treatment in some people's minds.
the thing is... no one has ever stated that final mix isn't coming to the mac. The statement made from Makie is to the contrary. They said the the Mac version will follow. They have promised to provide it to you for free...sixnon wrote: I'n simply saying that if you advertise a product as cross platform, then say "Oh yeh, but that feature doesn't exist in the xyz platform" then you're in breach of your advertising and your responsibility to your consumer base..it's just business AD80, I ain't making a comment about your wprth as an individual.
Anything is "Possible". But how can it be considered good business practices or fair to withhold features from one platform just to make the other platform feel accepted?sixnon wrote: then of course it is possible for others to do it...it just takes will, good business practices etc..
I guess I dont know what point you're trying to make with this or what it has to do with having a computer or Final Mix. What the hell do you possibly know about preemptive strikes in Australia? I was born in Panama city, Panama. Operation Just Cause survivor. Dont try to talk to me about strikes. And why dont you go ask Jobs how many computers he sold to the US army since you seem to be so much into global issues.I mean the whole argument for US hegemony is "well in a perfect world we wouldn't go 'round making preemptive strikes on innocent women and children...but what would you rather...Ayrab terrorists tellin' us what to do"
Sure doesnt, but witholding Final Mix from PC users until the Mac version is finished would make everything "better" ???doesn't mean one can't make suggestions as to how to better it..
That feature doesnt exist YET becuase they're working on it. Thats nothing to be ashamed of as a business. I'm almost certain they dont have a Final Mix PC team, and a Final Mix Mac team. So they probably couldnt finish both at the same time. Atleast thats what makes sense to me. But maybe I'm wrong.I don't want to get into a Mac's are better than PC's kind of thing here, I find it childish and tiresome. I'n simply saying that if you advertise a product as cross platform, then say "Oh yeh, but that feature doesn't exist in the xyz platform" ...
