In the plug-in Properties panel:
Q1: how do I use the Program field?
Q2: where are the Presets saved
Q3: when I Save a Preset, how can I create a sub-folder?
Q3 how do the presets listed when I click Load differ from those in the Search Browser on the left-hand side? (Load "Micro 808" from the left-hand Browser, then click on Load in the Properties panel and the pop-up will say "There aren't any presets ....")
Q4: Is there any way to select a preset by adding some MIDI event to a MID clip? Program Change perhaps?

Q1: If you have a plugin which reports programs, you simply select them from this list. Not all plugins support this feature though.
Q2: If you save a Waveform preset it will go in to the Waveform settings folder (location is dependant on your OS)
Q3: You can't create sub-folders
Q3: They are the same as those that appear in the "Search" browser
Q4: Not currently, some plugins might internally change preset when you send them MIDI program changes but this is completely separate from the Waveform preset system

Q2: Waveform Settings folder - I've looked everywhere I can think of but cannot find this folder; where would it be on Windows 7
Edit: ah ha, found the location, it's in ...\AppData\Roaming\Tracktion\Waveform\Presets

Q3: Presets - maybe I am confused, but they are not always the same here. Please see

Q4. You can insert a Program Change message. Probably the easiest way is via Insert Program Change from the Properties Panel while the relevant MIDI clip is highlighted (the MIDI editor is another way). That gives you the option to insert it at the cursor or the start of the clip, and then you can choose the next noise.
