MIDI note gets added to clip even while not rcording

Hi,
If a track with MIDI clips is resized to big (double-clicked) and then if I play notes on my MIDI keyboard, they get added to the clip, even while I'm not recording anything, not even record-enabled anything. Is this a bug or intentional? It was there since Waveform 10 and even now in Waveform 11. Is there any setting I've missed?

Sorry if this was covered before as I searched but wasn't able to find relative thread, and thanks for any help.

There IS a "retrospective record" function in the newer versions of Waveform... If you happen to be playing along and find you've just done a part you really like (and it wasn't in record), you can "get it back". Sorry I haven't actually used it, but it IS a potentially useful feature; and you may be activating it?

(Or it might be a bug, but make sure you're not doing this...)

In the case of retrospective record", it is supposed to add notes if I press the button (bellow record button) right? But in this case notes are added immediately as I press any note. Also, this happens only to those clips with notes written already.

Before writing any note (in the case of empty clip, nothing is happening, everything is fine):
Waveform FREE 2020-03-21 19-22-03_Trim.gif

But after writing some notes:
Waveform FREE 2020-03-21 19-23-06_Trim.gif

As you can see in the above GIFs (sorry for the poor quality, as I'm recording video and converting to GIF for the first time :? ), neither record enabled the track nor started recording, not even playing anything.

I make changes in plugins and audit often, and this is very annoying as I've to keep on undoing. If I keep working with the plugin about 10-15 mins, I can't even get back by undoing. Also every time I can't check if the track is in large view or small view. (As I mentioned, this problem doesn't occur in small (normal) view)

You have MIDI "Step" entry enabled which is a feature precisely to enable the feature you're describing.
You can disable it by pressing the "Step" button in the MIDI tools bar (next to the note length button).

Oh, my bad! Why didn't check this little button on MIDI clip! Thanks @dRowAudio! :)

It's an easy mistake to make. It made me think maybe we could flash the button when a note is added or something similar to make an association between the behaviour and the button. I'll have a think.
