Tracktion Waveform 11 Mac input problem

Hi,
I am new to Waveform (but do have experience with other DAWs) but I am having some problems with setting up the audio input. I am sure I am missing something obvious but I can't find it. I am using a MacBook Pro with OS 10.15, I have tried both of my interfaces (Behringer FCA1616 and Line 6 Toneport UX2) and neither seem to work (but do with other DAWs). I have reverted to just trying the built-in microphone ( which of course does give me an input level in Sound preferences of the Mac) but still no luck. What am I missing?

First, on the Settings tab, under Audio Devices, make sure the intended interface is selected in the "Input:" drop-down list, then under "Channels:", make sure the input and output channels you want to use are "Enabled".
If the "Default Input Follows Selected Track" checkbox is checked (underneath the channels list) turn it off.
In the edit you are working with, make sure the input selectors are visible - they are basically rectangles with pointy right ends:
If they are not visible, click the eyeball icon in the upper-right corner of the window and enable them:
Click the input selector of the track you want to record to and select the input from the list; it is broken down to "<No input>" at the top, followed by audio inputs, then MIDI inputs, with a handful of other options at the bottom.
The input selector changes to show the selected input and the input level meter, and there is a record enable button in the pointy part to the right.
If you click on the left part of the input selector and you have the properties panel visible along the bottom of the window (if it is not collapsed into the smaller view) you will see options for live input monitoring and the like show up in the properties panel; alternatively if you have the actions panel visible (might not be available in the free version of Waveform?) a similar set of properties show up there.

Thanks for this. But still not able to get any input working, even the built-in mic which I assume rules out any interface issues.??

Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone
Make sure Waveform is checked
Sometimes when you reinstall, update or move the App macOS gets confused. Uncheck and check again and it should work.

Did you get this one sorted out? I've got the exact same problem; audio interface is selected in settings, but input menu is empty. I also tried using the built-in microphone as input, but the input menu in the mixer is still empty.

Make sure you don't have "only show enabled input devices" selected
