Particularly, I need more detail on exactly what to do with this panel, and in what circumstances:
All I know about it so far, is that it's critical to disable any of the 4 categories you don't need, such as Samples, if you're including none. If you just leave the fields empty, but the Samples section is still enabled as shown here, the process will find and include in your Product EVERY sample MSF already knows you have, such as the entire factory sample collection, even if it has no purpose in your device!
Also, if you disable ALL the categories, you'll be creating an empty product.
But why the not-folder fields refer to "keywords" to "include" or "exclude" I can't imagine. Do these refer to the keywords in the device browser…?
The "Keywords include" field seems to actually be the only place you can specify the name of the preset or device files you want your product to contain, no? And what exactly does "exclude" mean in this context?
EG: For my first test Product, I specified both a Device w/Presets, and a Global Preset. (it's here, btw.)
After installing it, I never could find the GP, until I searched for it, so I know it's there, but I still have no idea where the installation process put it (see EDIT), or how to control that. Anybody? Is THIS what specifying a Folder in the Create panel is for?
I didn't specify any folders, yet the .txt file that the process created automatically captured the folders where I put the originals initially, as you can see here:
So, EDIT: this .txt file is what shows me where on my system the product files are, answering my question above about where to find the Global Preset. But how does this work for anyone else who installs my Product? Does it ignore the folder info in the .txt file, recreate my folders for them, or create a problem I should have avoided by first dragging copies OUT of my system folders onto my desktop?
Hopefully some answers will show up here, thank you! In the meantime, I'm certainly enjoying the existing mproducts:)
