Ok, so I found a new way to bsod windows XP.
Place 3-4 pitch shifers on 1 clip. one to +1, other to -1 octave, same for other two
Didnt try with other settings... got too frustrating.
2 pitch shifters after each other do some very weird things too.

What pitchshifter was it? If its something free we can see if it replicates. A demoversion should suffice even.

If you're getting a guru meditation, it's likely a driver and not Tracktion. I think that software doesn't have what it takes to crash an OS anymore. I'll take your advice, though, and not place more than one pitch shifter on a single track.
I can't think of any reason why I might, anyways...

Built in pitchshifter...
I was doing it to make a unique effect I often do with my eventide
Try it pough. Toss 4 of em on a clip and hit play.

..and surprise, surprise, it shifts the pitch 4 times..Try it pough. Toss 4 of em on a clip and hit play.
I've said this many times before: it is just not possible for ANY application to cause a blue-screen. Only a driver can do that.
Could be the cpu load of all the pitch shifting making your driver get confused. Or just a coincidence.

Ok this is weird. I had 8 at high setting, but when I tryed to put 10 on there my RewireDLL crashed Tracktion . It just crashes then tells me the RewireDLL did something illegal. It happens everytime I go over 8 Pitchshifters in a row. What does Rewire have to do with anything
? Ah well. I couldnt hear any sound after 5 pitchshift anyways.

interesting...
I tried as suggested by placing the 4 pitch shifters on an audio clip (+1 -1 alternating octaves), and it worked perfectly... no glitches nada (even on the high quality setting)... with plenty of cpu to go.
Then I deleted the audio, and placed a midi clip in there feeding vanguard followed by 4 pitch shifters. Hit play, and bam... Tracktion disappeared, said Rewire verification error (tho I'm not using rewire), and left it's process running. No BSOD, but it definately blew up. cpu wasn't an issue in this case either.. I had plenty of room. Maybe the sudden shut down is doing something weird to your drivers which is giving you the BSOD.
Anyway... I killed the process, and restarted T... Did the exact same setup with vanguard feeding 4 alternating octave pitch shifters.. and the second time it worked flawless...
go figure..
AD80 beat me to the test...

Note, I was using in high quality mode as well. Makes a big difference, only mildy freaks out in medium.
I get the rewire thing ... then it bsod's.
Happens with tascam and motu drivers. RME just lets it go it seems. Also tried with edirol, and it bsod's SOMETIMES, but not always.
And using on audio clips.
Seems like a memory access problem...

Aren't you supposed to be absent?
