Waveform not passing midi notes to external port with stopped transport?

Maybe I am missing something here, but I found that I cannot play an external synth unless I start the transport. Is this right?

You need "run audio engine when stopped" under general options, and "Enable input monitoring" for the tracks you want to feed on to audio or back to MIDI.

Thanks a lot! I have input monitoring enabled, of course, but I don't know about the other option, I'll check later.

I checked. "Run audio engine while stopped" is enabled, and also Input Monitoring for the input device. I see no way of enabling Input Monitoring for the track itself, so I guess that's what you meant.

I noticed that it seems to keep something in a buffer, because it sends notes on with a very short duration when I start the transport. As soon as I stop the transport, no notes are sent out. I have inserted the MidiMonitor as far in the chain it will allow, and it shows the incoming notes. Again, no problems with the transport running. It is the same with three different hardware synths, so this is Waveform's behavior for sure.

BTW, I am in Windows 10, latest updates.

Notes do not sound either when clicked in the Midi Editor, and yes, the button for them to sound is on.
