Plugin dearVR Pro binaural not working

I cannot produce binaural sound when using the dearVR Pro plugin with MuLab 8.5 which I assume means that vst is incompatible. As a workaround is to render the required instrument track with dearVR in Ableton and import the treated wav file into Mulab. Would prefer to work within my preferred DAW though (MuLab).

No errors reported with the VST. The VST interface controls all operate and there is no crashing or anything to suggest the VST isn't working. However, dearVR is designed to produce a binaural effect (using either the cartesian or polar spacial adjustments) but in MuLab the sound merely responds like a normal pan. However, in Ableton the binaural effect is present and the recording can be moved within the spacial environment (e.g. behind the listener, etc).
