Hi dickiefunk,
I'm very new too with Waveform 11 Free edition.
What I know, if the track consist a midi clip, W11 can export it to midi file.
Select the midi clip in the track.
Look below section, the clip properties, it has "Render Clip" button.
Click it and then choose "Render MIDI".
But if the track has vst/plugin, it won't always work.
Some vst/plugin causing it won't render at all although in the render dialog box the "passthrough plugin" already unchecked.

If you just want one clip, the fastest way is to grab the little file icon on the clip header and drag it to your desktop. (Click the file icon first and disable, 'Pass through plugins')
You you can go to the main menu > export > render to file > select mid and then you can render one or all tracts to a midi file. Once again, disable through plugins.
