Tracktion 2 to Waveform 11 - a couple of Questions

I want to get back in to home recording having been away from it for a decade or so. I previously used Tracktion 2, and liked it. I've looked at a few videos for Waveform 11 and the fundamentals look similar enough for me to feel comfortable about trying to use it.
Could I import all my projects from Tracktion 2 into Waveform 11, and have them open as they would have done in T2? (I'm guessing that old plugins and so on won't work etc as I was running Windows XP and will now be using Windows 10.)
I always found this forum helpful and friendly when I had queries, and I'm sure it continues to be so.
Given the learning curve that will be needed to get up to speed with Waveform I wondered whether to buy the Basic Pro version in order to get the technical support. Do people find that the official support is reasonably quick to respond, helpful etc?
Thanks for your advice. I'm looking forward to making music again

I have been opening my old projects (from around version 4 probably) without much trouble. It will usually find 64 bit versions of old 32 bit plugins if I have them. Otherwise it will have an empty plugin with a little warning that the plugin doesn't exist.

Highly recommended: make backups of projects AND when re-saving with WF11 save as new version.

You can get a fair amount of help here even if you use the free version. But I always recommend the pro version. I think it's on sale right now. Not only is it better, but you get better help from those of us who have never used the free version and are unfamiliar with it.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

As far as tech support, I going then great. The press developer is often here as well.

Support via email may have slowed down because of the virus, but when I bought 11 pro in early January, support was super quick in response.

The help here has been fantastic for me as well.

I just tested loading some songs from 2010 (I'm guessing they were likely created in Tracktion 3), and everything seems to come up fine. Of course, virtually none of the 3rd party plugins work since everything has changed in my vst folders since then!

I concur that you should back everything up first, but I'm guessing you'll at least be able to rebuild the framework of your songs smoothly. In the past, the biggest challenge for me has been recreating synth tracks for instruments that will no longer load. I learned long ago to always create stems when archiving a song so you at least know what the synth part is supposed to sound like, and in a pinch you can always just use the rendered part. It's also helpful to put the patch name, and notes about settings in a Tracktion note attached to the track so you can reconstruct it later.)

Good luck. :)
