I received a notice when I opened Dashboard this morning that a new version was offered. I installed it and it basically wiped Blocks out of my computer. This clearly has something to do with the Roli Hardware driver. If one goes into the hardware drive folder the ROLI folder and clicks on the driver, it does start, but then one must open Dashboard, set it back to MPE, close it and reopen it again, then....it works. What a mess. I filled out a support ticket at ROLI and was told that they'll get in touch with me by July 6. Since this may be due to COVID-19, I'm not sure how to feel about this part, but the rest of the story is frustrating, all the moreso because Blocks were working great and smoothly in Waveform and Bitwig until this, um, update.

I'm posting this as a warning. BTW, I'm on a PC running Win10 Pro. Not sure if this is affecting Macs or not.

Dlandis, is this a Tracktion issue? I use a Seaboard RISE, not a BLOCK, and haven't experienced any issues since the upgrade under Waveform (Win 10).
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Hi Watchful,

It's more of a warning for Tracktion users. I'd hold off on the update to Dashboard. I've not had any problems either until this update this morning. Before this, totally smooth sailing (at least, on the interfacing with DAW front; with Studio Drums and Studio Player, there were update issues and I actually had to forget about updating them totally, but with Waveform and Bitwig, no issues until today). And, of course, I do not know if this is an issue for Rise users.

ROLI updates have been very strange for me. Still, when the hardware works as you want in the DAW of your choice, it can be so cool. However, the tech person I spoke to when I first had a hassle updating Connect from 1.12 (I think that was the version number if I remember correctly) a couple of months ago, while very nice, seemed a bit out of her depth when dealing with my issue. When I asked her about deleting all of the ROLI apps and reinstalling from scratch, she told me that was too complex. We never did get the update worked out, but at least Studio Drummer and Studio Player still ran. After Dashboard 4.13, neither will run under Connect.

I did find a work-around for the issue I described regarding yesterday's Dashboard update (assuming that Dashboard 4.13 has installed at some level):

(I'm on Win10 Pro, 64 bit [this last, needless to say].)

1) As ROLI suggests somewhere, go to: C: Program Files>ROLI>ROLI HArdware Driver and double-click on the ROLI Hardware Driver.exe file to open it. It will open a window on your desktop and look like nothing happened, but it is running at this point. At this point, I pinned it to my taskbar to make life a bit easier. You will have to turn this on now every time you want to use your ROLI hardware.
2) Open ROLI Dashboard 4.13. Click on the images of the various ROLI Hardware you have on your system (I have Seaboard, Lightpad, and Touch Blocks). Configure them the way you like (I have Seaboard configured to MPE Mode). If you're like me, you will have to do this now every time you want to use the ROLI hardware; apparently, it will not save your config upon closing anymore.
3) If you've gotten through this, you're probably good to go now. Waveform is really robust MPE-wise compared to some other DAWS mentioned on the ROLI website as "supporting MPE".

I hope this helps someone. :?
