Hey guys,
I'm back with another FR... As you might know, I'm currently working on a reproduction of the 80ties analog mono synth the Octave Cat. Okay at least the voice structure. Check out the thread here: viewtopic.php?f=138&t=547206)
One of the features of the Octave Cat is an retriggerable ADSR envelope.
The Problem is, that MSF per voice modulators do not offer the possibility. I had to change everything ENV related to work with the global modulators which offer to be triggered. I used a LFO Modulator for the retrigger.
BUT: I always planned to create a polyphonic version of my CAT. This is not possible without retriggerable per Voice Envelopes.
Why using LFOs with Custom Shapes is not a solution? Because I cannot control custom shapes with Multiparameters. It's simply not possible to create an LFO mimicking an ADSR and make it controlable by Multiprameters.
Sorry to say, but I think the Envs as of today are good, but lack some functionality...
Therefore I kindly request:
(1) Add possibility to retrigger per Voice Modulator Envelopes, for instance by an envelope.
(2) Add Multisegment Envelopes with customizeable Repeat-Start and Repeat-End Points
(3) Add the possibility to "expose" a ADSR type of control to the easy GUI with just one click.

MSF Feature Request: Per Voice Modulator Envelopes should be "retriggerable" like global Mods

Well
1) Should be possible, not sure if it make into the next update.
2) I don't follow, most of these things can be done using Env (possibly with tremolo) or LFO.
3) Sorry, that would be a problem. I'd like that too, but so far I didn't come up with a usable solution.

Damn, I never thought of "Tremolo" can be used to draw arbitrary shapes for the "Sustain Phase" and simulate MSEGs. It works, cool but yet another of my stories were my intuition left me and I learn okay its different and nothing I could have come up with on my own ...MeldaProduction wrote: Sat Jun 27, 2020 10:15 pm Well

Anyway I did a little experiment with it, to verify it, see patch below.
I have setup the per voice modulator Env1 with...
- a Custom Attack Shape (see orange rectangle)
- a wobbly Tremolo and set tremolo amount to 100% (see green rectangle, bottom of picture)
The only quirky thing is that in the Preview of the Custom Env Tab, the Tremolo is not reflected.
I have to open a second Editor to see the Tremolo settings, as you can see depicted. Top part of the picture shows the "Custom Editor" of Env1 including the Preview. The green part is where the tremolo actualy kicks in, but it is not reflected. The Attack phase is. To see the Tremolo I have to open the Editor.
