M-Powersynth (or MSoundFactory?): Pitch dive from fixed pitch to key dependent pitch

Goal: Simple 909 style kick drum patch where a sine wave dives from fixed pitch no matter what key is pressed down to the fundamental of the pressed key. So, for instance, if I hit C0, it dives from C7 to C0, and if I hit D-1, dives from C7 to D-1.
AFAIK, the pitch ADSR in PowerSynth is always a function of the base oscillator pitch (going up or down a certain number of steps or cents from that pitch.
Similarly, I can see how to create the dive by enabling the modulator on the octave tab within the oscillator voice in MSoundFactory.
I can also see a fixed pitch option in either synth, but that fixes the wrong pitch so it still dives according to the basic oscillator pitch, but that pitch no longer varies with key press. I want the opposite where it always starts at the same point, but ends on the note pressed. Also, I see both are limited to 4 octave range, and I'd like to dive further than that.
I suppose I'd prefer to do it in M-Powersynth since that also lets me stack an attack sample, do some waveshaping, etc within a single plug and save as a handy preset. Any tips for which options to use in order to allow pitch dive from fixed pitch to selected note?

Have you tried using 2 oscillators, 1 for the attack and 1 for the key? Then try a mixer, ratio or your favourite transiting module for cross-fading betwixt the 2.
Why would you want a static attack note that may be unrelated to the key?

I assume that you apply a envelope to modulate pitch, right?
Can you then modulate the env amount by following key? I mean drop from c7 to c0 might be "full" env, but when you press c1 instead the env amount is decreased by an octave? Can you use one of the "key" modulators for that?
Try this patch. Probably this could be the direction:
Osc-Module: Check out Pitch Modulation
En1: Check out the level modulation

Unless I'm misunderstanding, that would crossfade from one to the other whereas the 909 kick attack thing requires the frequency to sweep. Not sure exactly what "morphing" synths do when going from one pitch to another, but perhaps that sort of thing would work. I certainly do want the overall (ending pitch to be in key), but the initial pitch dives so quickly that it's perceived as a click into a thump rather than a particular pitch.werzel wrote: Sun Jul 05, 2020 7:59 pm Have you tried using 2 oscillators, 1 for the attack and 1 for the key? Same goes for using a "toppper" that may have some high frequency information. Pitching it along with the kick means that any hats, buzz, or whatever gets pitched along with it which doesn't sound nearly as natural as leaving that at a fixed pitch. Similarly, setting the initial pitch is all about finding the ideal click. Pitching that up or down would just be perceived as certain notes having more or less pronounced click.

Thx. Looks like more or less what I had gravitated toward with the secret sauce added of key modulation of the level for the envelope controlling the dive. Interesting idea, but after spending a little while with it, I'm not seeing any particular setting yet using any of the key or key scale mods that lines up to give a consistent top note. Seems to be a scaling mismatch issue. Probably something that could be kludged with a painstaking transformation map, but not a simple mapping that I'm seeing.
