I like Mulab but I cannot do what seems to be an easy operation.
I click new AUDIO track and it appears with RACK 2.
I install in the Rack slot 1 a reverb effect. I know want to record the source plus the reverb effect.
I record the source but it has no recorded reverb.
I have spent hours on this and my patience is exhausted.
Please help with a SLOW and CONCISE instruction how to record the source and effect. Logic would say I need to record the output of the effect but I can't make this happen.
Please do not suggest Mulab DOCS or any of the video's as I have seen them all and none tell you in detail how to set up to record a source plus and including the effect.
I am using free Mulab 7-7-4

Start a "factory" new project
Delete all tracks and racks (apart from master)
Add two "Audio" tracks
Set the output of "Rack 2" to be "Rack 3 Recorder" and insert your pre-record effects in "Rack 2"
Turn off record on the "Rack 2" track
Turn on record on the "Rack 3" track
Check the settings for track 2: the up-right pointing arrow pops up a panel: arm off, monitor off, Record From Direct Audio Input, inputs correctly assigned
Check the settings for track 3: the up-right pointing arrow pops up a panel: arm on, monitor off, Record From Rack 2, Chans auto should do

You may want to change the "Monitor" on one or other tracks (probably 3).

I've not got an audio in set up here to check it but I think that's right.

The idea is to setup an FX bus where you forward the input audio to. Then have the audio recorder read from the FX bus.

Hope this helps!

Thankyou pl jones for your step by step guidance. No wonder I could'nt suss it out myself.
I have got some of my self esteem back. I am a 67 year old analogue guy who has got to get his head round the digital DAW way of modern recording.
Thanks to dakkra also.
