…so the samples don't have to be included in the device, and nobody gets errors when they try to use the device! TIA!!

Hm, actually I'd say you just use the factory samples, while they are being linked with some kind of "relative" path. This way they should get accessed by other users correctly, if they installed and set up their factory content properly.

See this GIF and see the path, which won't begin with a HDD letter or root-slash or so ... it just starts with "Meldaproduction", which is the Meldaproduction-Factory folder inside the set up content path:

And here you can see my MSF settings content path (only a part ... the other stuff on the right is the absolute path which I did not want to show as well ... hopefully you get the idea :D ):

And now use my preset:

Yeah, it works fine for me, even though the symlink I specified in Settings doesn't show up in the Melda browser when I try to find another Factory sample to drag in. I have to browse to the original folder on the drive that's located on. Not a big deal, so long as the link works when loading a preset!

So, I'm set up properly, which I figured was the case; NOW, thanks very much, I've got a link to offer when others are getting errors:)

Glad I could help! :)

For anyone else reading this, there's another thread here definitely worth reading about using Factory samples:
