I use MAutoDynamicEQ a lot in projects, and while it's great, the workflow of the dynamic part of it is a bit clumsy. Maybe it's partly down to how Reaper handles the different windows, but the band settings window (specifically the dynamics section) could be improved. I guess part of it is that I can't start and stop playback without clicking outside the window [but I can with the main plugin window open], but even if I could, the window itself takes up so much of the screen that there's not even enough room for both the plugin windows, let along the plugin windows AND being able to see the project I'm working on.

So maybe if (as well as sorting out the focus on plugin windows vs the rest of the DAW) the list of band types was made smaller (either smaller buttons or just more of a plain list [maybe grouped by types of bands]?) and then having the ability to collapse the 3 sections to save space depending on what it is the user is wanting to do?

Edit: window focus problem has been solved, but the main issue still remains of the band settings window taking up too much space on screen

In reaper You can set a shortcut triggering an action to be absolute, ie to be executed regardless of the focus. I personaly have set ctrl + space triggering play/stop that way.

How do you do that? I don't see an option in the actions list. Thanks.

When you set the new shortcut, there are checkboxes in the popup window.

Edit : to be more precise, double click the shortcut in the action list, then adjust the scope parameter.

That seems to have worked. Thanks!

Ok I see it. Thanks.

Sorry for the bump, but my request for being able to collapse the sections in the band settings window still stands and these's not (yet) been an official reply.
