Hi, just updated my Studio One Pro to V5.
I tried to put Patchwork on the new Listen Bus and S.O. crashed immediately !
Now I still use 1.7.2 VST2, as I need the "off boundaries" feature of V.1.x. ( gone in 2.x )
So I tried 1.7.2 VST3 > I now could load Patchwork but S.O. crashed on loading a certain preset or otherwise on closing S.O.
Tried V2.4.2 VST3 > same as above.

I use patchwork to easily load 3 measuring plugins ( HOFA IQ Analyzer, Melda Stereo meter, SPL Hawk Eye - all VST 3 ) and have their GUI positions recalled, as Studio One still does not recall initial plugin GUI positions.
It works flawless, when installing the plugins individually, on the listen bus. Downside : I have to put the GUIs where I want them, each time !
Not good !

The new bus maybe has issues handling audio I/O properly, we'll have to check it out. Have you tried the 2.4.2 VST2?

Thanks for the quick reply !
I also posted this in the Presonus forum, BTW.
No, I didn't test 2.4.2 VST2, as VST2 was worse in 1.7.2.
May try that tomorrow ...

New tests show, the main bus does also not work !
Crashes immediately with Patchwork 1.72 VST 2/3.

Does it work fine on individual tracks?

Stopped using Patchwork for now ...
Can this be replicated at all ??

Post

Not yet, but we'll try asap.

Just did some tests with the 5.0.1 update. I can use the 1.7.4 Patchwork VST3, without immediate crashes. Still S1 5 crashes on closing a song containing Patchwork ...

It seems that they have indeed fixed many issues with plug-ins in this update, but there is probably some more work on their plate. We'll check this out and report back to them if we can find what the exact issue is. By the way do you have crashes upon exit even if no plug-in is loaded inside PatchWork?

Post

Just tried Studio One 5.0.1 on Windows with the latest version of PatchWork (both VST and VST3) and several built-in plg-ins loaded and could not reproduce the crash.

Are you running a Mac or Windows machine by the way?

Thanks a lot !
I'm on Win10 - AMD 8 core. And remember : I tried Patchwork 1.7.4, as I need the off boundaries placement of GUIs.
I assume the loaded plugins have a influence but have not yet tested in 5.0.1 ...
Maybe data collecting plugins are an issue ? I use Plugin Alliance Hawkeye to collect loudness data. Also Melda Mstereoscope and HOFA Spectrum Analyzer.

Luckily, other users still have crashes in 5.0.1 ... ( unrelated to Patchwork ) ...
so a fix is still due to come ...

Thanks again for the ongoing support !

Unfortunately we cannot update PatchWork 1.x so let's hope they will indeed keep fixing plug-ins issues in the next release.
