Hello,
I passed a REAPER project with a MTremolo instance (v14.07, free bundle registered) to a friend who had an older version installed (v10.01, free bundle unregistered).
We had a few head-scratching hours until we figured out the solution to a weird problem.
MTremolo loaded in V10.01, but its settings were partially screwed up (mainly, the host sync was disabled).
I know there have been changes in automation as versions increased, could it be we met one of them?
Or, could the registered/unregistered difference explain to some extent what happened?
Thanks,
Mario

Hi Mario,
you can NOT open new settings properly on old version of course. That would require "future compatibility"
, nobody does that, since adding features etc. immediately breaks things up. Why doesn't he simply update the plugins?

Yeah he updated and everything was fine, but it took a while to figure out why the plugin sounded so weird (no messages or anything else was shown, if something could be broken I expected at least some kind of warning).
I understand that you cannot expect that older versions can handle newer settings, but for example REAPER shows a message when a project is loaded into an earlier version than the one with which it was saved.
Anyway, all good now.
Thanks!
