Enabling multicore has opposite effect in Diva and Repro5

I'm using the most recent Diva 9775 and Repro 9669 on a Sandy bridge i5 in 64 bit Linux and the most recent reaper version, though this behaviour was the same with earlier versions. Both plugins operate really well! I have noticed though that clicking the multicore button in Diva gives a noticeable improvement in CPU usage and Xruns whereas doing the same in Repro5 noticeably increases CPU usage and Xruns. Is this a known issue? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Hmmm can't confirm that over here in Reaper.

You should check out Reaper's RT CPU metric in Performance Meter, you will see that it goes down when you enable multicore in either plugin, while the CPU usage reported at the bottom of TCP goes up. RT CPU is the one that's more important.

Yes, that's what I was looking at. I have the rtcpu pinned in the docker. The MS response time is higher with rt enabled in repro too. What repro version are you using?

Are you using Linux reaper?

Post

Nope, W10 here.

Post

Maybe it's an issue with the Linux plugins then?

Post

Either that, or Linux Reaper, or both simultaneously.

I use to see that behaviour in my Mac a year ago, switched to PC and works fine here

Ableton Live 9 actually was my DAW, now on Live 10 and Win10
But then a strange fear gripped me
and I just couldn't ask....

Where do you get 9775 of Diva? I can only find 9709.
