Yes please!!!sjewins wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2020 10:51 pm I, and perhaps others, would find it very useful to have scale notes highlighted in the pianoroll views.
Simon
I was going to make the same suggestion in this days...

make sure to check this box and the key colors will work correctly

Interesting. Yeah, I'd kind of like to see colored lines across to know where the notes in key ARE, and also pre-existing notes highlighted per MIDI keyboard -
It appears that it works for new notes you add, though. If you "pencil in" new notes, they ARE color-coded per key signature being applied to that section. If you move around pre-existing MIDI notes, they still aren't. Not sure how I would have done it; I'm kind of agreeing with some of the comments here in that it's not what I'd like to see.
The "PianoRoll" lines across DO indicate notes in key, but they're a little hard to distinguish; but that may be palette options I haven't tweaked.

Yep. I am now getting the same results. New notes are colored as desired.
I agree that this is of limited use. Existing notes on an imported file should be colored. I strongly agree that it is the note lanes that should be colored, not the notes (or as well as the notes).

... but I can't see that at all.

PianoRoll zoomed in, and set to Cm. You can see the grey are in key, and black out of key. Make sure you have option in settings for "highlight current key in MIDI background". I think default follows the white/black keys only.
You can see the midi notes recorded are NOT colored. New notes added with the MIDI editor ARE colored per settings.

I did a two videos on the note colors feature recently:
PART 1
PART 2
The scale and chord colors is one of my favorite features of Waveform 11. The only other DAW with anything like this Cubase.
