Has anyone used MDelayMB as a looper? I had too many issues/frustrations with MSuperLooper to purchase it, so on a whim had a deeper look at MDelayMB.
It's ended up being a fantastic 2 channel looper for my (simple) purposes: guitar looper. Some of my settings to get it working as I wanted:
- Sync to host, with length set to 2 bars (my loop length). I was using the metronome from the host.
- Modern algorithm and Classic mode
- Separate multiparamaters to control Record/Play and Overdub mode for each channel. Another multiparameter to clear the loop.
The 'Record/Play' multiparameter would have feedback and gain at silence when off (record mode), and I would also use a trigger on the Silence button to clear out any prior loops. When I was happy with my last 2 bars and activated the multiparameter, it would turn on Freeze and turn up the Gain to the loop volume I wanted. I don't know what it is, but I've gotten the neatest loops I've ever achieved using this plugin!
The 'Overdub' multiparameter when activated would turn Freeze off and turn Feedback up (which overdubbed the previous loop with what I was playing). Turning overdub off would turn Freeze back on and Feedback to silence.
So I have this set up for both Tap 1 and Tap 2, acting as 2 looper channels - controlled by 4 buttons on my midi foot controller. I'm going to experiment further with using the feedback filter mode to be able to trigger some degradation of the loops. But I've already got a nice timed loop fadeout triggered from another multiparameter.
And the nice thing is that this setup is scalable - so easy to add further plugin instances in parallel if I need them.

Thanks! When you have Sync enabled, the loop/delay lengths can go up to 64 bars: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64.
