Some thoughts:
In MultiSampler when 'Mix OH and Room' is OFF (thus OH and Room bypass the main FX and can go to dedicated outputs), 'Close mix' sends some of the OH/Room signal to the main output. It's a balance control...more to the Main out = less to the OH/Room outs.
With 'Mix OH & Room' ON, 'Close mix' has no affect of course because in that case all of the OH/Room signal is going to the Main out anyway. Is that correct?
The info says "'Close volume' controls the output volume of the close mike only. It is provided in addition to the global fader, which controls all mikes, including overheads and rooms."
Seems strange that when 'Mix OH and Room' is OFF (and 'Close mix' is silent) and all mics in the MultiSampler mixer are silent except Room or OH, that the global meter only responds when 'Close volume' is above -inf.

I'm not sure what you mean, anyways could you check the new beta? I think there are some changes in the mixer.

No change in beta 14.09d.
Just trying to understand the 'signal flow'.
Try this with just one drum, say Snare drum 1 with a file loaded from the Multisampler tab.
In the little mixer inside the Multisampler tab set all mics except room to silence. Set 'Close mix' to silence.
So, all we have is a room mic, no close mics.
Go to the main MIXER, the fader is a master of all mics, so yes, that includes the room mic, and we see the meter respond.
But if we turn the 'Close volume' right down to minus infinity, the meter response disappears (even though we can still hear the drum)....Why? We have no close mics happening anyway...the 'Close volume' should be irrelevant. Why is the meter response linked to the 'Close volume' when there are no close mics?
I realize that this sort of verbal description is hard to follow....the steps need to be taken in the plugin to see it.

Aaaaha, well, there's a bit of hidden catch - what exactly should the meter show? Originally it was showing the close mikes only, so it worked fine in your case. But that was completely ignoring the cymbals, since they usually don't have any close mikes. So the drum was playing, but you didn't even know that
. So I kinda fixed that, so that the meter takes I think maximum (?) from all the buses the drum provides. So now it actually displays the rooms.
