Does anybody have any comments on how Waveform copy / pastes midi notes?

Right now it copies the selected notes, and pastes them at the playhead and then moves the playhead so you can paste again. This seems pretty standard behaviour compared to the few other DAWs I looked at.

I gets kinda clunky when you are trying to copy / paste a bar when the first note isn't at beat 0 and the last note doesn't end at the end of the bar?

Does anybody think the copy / paste range should be expanded by the snap amount? It's hard to explain what I'm thinking.

Maybe people can just gripe about copy / paste or tell me what DAWs handle copy / paste better. (I'm mainly talking about midi notes).

It's a little confusing. Here's what confuses me:

1. If I select my notes and right click, the "copy" command is right there. Nice!
2. When I click where I want them to go, the "paste" command is lower on the menu, which is not as intuitive. I wonder if paste could be moved up to just under copy.
3. I'm never sure where they'll actually paste. It's usually close to the playhead, but when the playhead jumps, it seems, on occasion, to jump a little too far ahead.

Maybe I'm wrong on item 3, but I do find myself having to drag the notes back to where I wanted them to go. Maybe I need to pay attention to where I'm alt+clicking better. I do think it's related to your observation about the bar, though.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

The paste position delta is snapped. For example, if you have a note that starts just before or after the bar, let's say at beat 0.01 and you copy it and then paste it at beat 4, I look at the delta which is 3.99, and then snap it to 4. Then I add 4 to all the note positions and create new notes. So your new note appears at beat 4.01. So when you are pasting, the note can appear just ahead or behind the cursor.

I think that correct in that it keeps the timing of your musical phrase, but is it confusing to the user that it doesn't paste exactly at the playhead?

I'm looking at Logic, and it seems to always paste exactly at the cursor.
